Vacuum arrived on time. Seems to work as advertised. My only problem is that it was missing one of the attachments – a $6 extention wand. I talked to 2 different people at amazon and they contended that such a wand was not included because on their website it only says that the product includes “onboard tools”. I tried to explain to them that the box AND the instruction manual says the wand is included, and that the wand was one of the “on board tools”, yet both people kept insisting that because such a wand wasn’t stated on the website there was nothing they could do. They did give me 2 nonhelpful choices; either I pay to ship it back to Amazon and they would send me a new one, or I could call Hoover and ask them if they could send me the part for free.

So, terrible customer service for a decent product. This very much disappoints me, as I used to buy lots of stuff from Amazon. What I have found over the last few months is that Amazon is great for books and other items that are basically 1-piece things. But items that have multiple pieces, are high value, or are fragile tend to have problems. They should stick to books.

My review is of the reviews..Unless I’m missing something; it is not clear on individual reviews as to whether the vacuum was purchased new or used…one review said it arrived full of dirt?.. My desire for a review is for ‘New’ vacuums..as you get what you pay for[used dirt?] when buying a used item…

I researched vacuums for several months and read both positive and negative reviews. My other vacuum is a Hoover but is old and has weak suction so I thought I could trust the Hoover brand. And, since a popular consumer review source highly recommended this vacuum I decided to buy it.

I haven’t even vacuumed my entire house yet and the vacuum is broken. I am returning it for a refund and will try another brand. Any one know of any MADE IN THE USA brands?

  5. It looks like my old Hoover, but as soon as my husband touched it to assemble it, he was cut on his hand. The handle has very sharp edges, and so do the holders for the wand.

I also found that Hoover no longer has authorized service stores. They have been closed, and when you go to Hoover’s website they give you repair shops for all vacuums. I am so disappointed that another manufacturer has sold to the Chinese.

I gave the new “Hoover” away and bought a vacuum made in the USA.
