Delerium have brought in one of the most fearless voices in music for their next chapter. "Into The Light," a new single credited to Delerium and Diamanda Galás, came out September 23 on [Metropolis Records](https://metropolis-records.com/artist/delerium?ref=unknowndivide.com), and it is the first single from [Exaudire](https://delerium-official.bandcamp.com/album/exaudire?ref=unknowndivide.com), a new Delerium album due January 22, 2027\. Pairing the duo behind "Silence" with the artist behind The Divine Punishment sounds unlikely on paper. It makes more sense the moment you hear it.

## What Galás brings to the track

This is not a new vocal session in the usual Delerium sense. According to the single's credits on [Delerium's Bandcamp](https://delerium-official.bandcamp.com/album/into-the-light?ref=unknowndivide.com), "Into The Light" embodies portions of "Deliver Me From Mine Enemies: IV. Ε Ξελόυ Mε \[Deliver Me\]," a piece owned, written and performed by Galás and used by permission. That piece comes from The Divine Punishment, her 1986 album, and you can hear the original on [Galás's own Bandcamp](https://diamandagalas.bandcamp.com/track/deliver-me-from-mine-enemies-iv-m-deliver-me?ref=unknowndivide.com).

The label's release credits list Galás as composer and lyricist next to Delerium's Bill Leeb and Rhys Fulber as composers, with Delerium producing. So her voice and words from four decades ago sit at the center of a new six-minute Delerium track, built around them rather than borrowed for a hook. [Galás's official site](https://diamandagalas.com/updates/news/delerium-and-diamanda-galas-into-the-light/?ref=unknowndivide.com) announced the single as new music out now and confirmed it will be on Exaudire.

## Why the pairing works

Leeb and Fulber first made their name in the electro-industrial group Front Line Assembly, and Delerium began as their outlet for dark, filmic instrumentals in the late 1980s. By the mid-1990s they were inviting favorite singers in, and that guest-vocal approach has defined the project ever since. Galás, the Californian avant-garde singer and performer, comes from a very different place, but the early, shadowy side of Delerium has always shared some of her intensity. "Into The Light" leans into that overlap.

## Exaudire: the album

Exaudire runs 12 tracks, with Galás on track two and five other guest acts spread across the record. The tracklist on the official Bandcamp page:

1. Higher Power (with Mimi Page)
2. Into The Light (with Diamanda Galás)
3. Dream Palace (with Magic Wands)
4. Buried Light (with Mimi Page)
5. Apocalypse (with Inna Walters)
6. Stolen (with Phildel)
7. Into The Unknown (with Jael)
8. Multiplying Zero (with Inna Walters)
9. Chasing The Wind (with Mimi Page)
10. Exaudire
11. Had To Go (with Jael)
12. Litany (with Mimi Page)

Mimi Page carries four songs, Inna Walters and Jael two each, and the title track stands on its own. It is the follow-up to Signs from 2023, which Metropolis also released.
