Chunky, candy-colored furniture just met Mickey Mouse. Stockholm studio [Gustaf Westman](https://gustafwestman.com/pages/disney-x-gustaf-westman?ref=unknowndivide.com) has started revealing Disney x Gustaf Westman, a collection that runs Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy and Pluto through Westman's puffy, chunky, candy-colored world. It covers furniture, ceramics, glassware, apparel and accessories, from everyday gifts up to collectible, made-to-order furniture, and the studio says new objects are being revealed every day.

## What has been shown so far

The centerpiece is the [Mickey Sofa](https://gustafwestman.com/products/mickey-sofa?ref=unknowndivide.com), a black, overstuffed seat whose rounded cushions stack up into the outline of Mickey's head. It looks like a close cousin of Westman's own Blob Sofa, which says a lot about how naturally his style and Disney's shapes fit together. Next to it are a Mickey Clock that stands on a yellow base like a pair of cartoon shoes, a black Mickey Mirror and a Minnie Mirror Ribbon with a pink bow on top.

The smaller pieces are where most people will start. The [Mickey Tumbler](https://gustafwestman.com/products/mickey-tumbler?ref=unknowndivide.com) is a glazed ceramic tumbler with a silicone straw, styled like Mickey's red shorts with ears on top. There is a Mickey Cup, a Mickey's Glove Cup and a Donald's Hat Cup, each a glazed ceramic cup and saucer, plus a Mickey's Shorts Vase in glazed ceramic. On the glass side, the Mickey Glass is a hand-blown drinking glass and the [Goofy Vase](https://gustafwestman.com/products/goofy-vase?ref=unknowndivide.com) is a chunky hand-blown vase and saucer shaped like Goofy's green hat. A Mickey Jewelry Box rounds out what is listed right now.

Westman notes that the ceramics carry a Gustaf Westman and Disney collaboration logo at the base and that each piece is unique, with natural color shifts. The hand-blown glass varies in color and dimension from piece to piece, too. That handmade unevenness is part of the charm.

## How and when you can buy it

Nothing is for sale yet. According to the studio's [collection page](https://gustafwestman.com/pages/disney-x-gustaf-westman?ref=unknowndivide.com), the pieces will be available first at three pop-ups:

- **Paris:** October 30 to November 1 at 10 Rue de Saintonge in Le Marais
- **Tokyo:** November 6 to 8 at BEAMS Harajuku
- **New York:** November 13 to 15 at 40 Renwick Street
- **Online:** November 15 at 18:00 CET (noon ET) on gustafwestman.com

The studio is pointing fans to its newsletter for updates and first access, which is the smart move if you want one of the cups before they disappear. For pricing and each day's new reveals, keep an eye on the [Disney collection page](https://gustafwestman.com/collections/disney?ref=unknowndivide.com) as launch gets closer.

## Who is Gustaf Westman?

Gustaf Westman set up his Stockholm-based studio in 2020 after starting out as an architect. The label makes made-to-order furniture, custom pieces, ceramics and glassware, and its furniture is built with selected Swedish woodworkers to keep production local. Its Chunky mirrors, Curvy sideboards and Blob sofas are the studio's signature, and this collaboration takes that look to a much bigger audience.

## Why it matters

Character merch usually means a logo on a mug. This is the opposite: Westman has turned the characters into pure shape and color, so the Mickey Sofa reads as a design object first and a Disney product second. Expect the collectible end of this drop to be hard to get. It also continues the line from Memphis-era color and the soft, low furniture of the 1970s into something that feels new.

For context on that lineage, read our [Memphis design explainer](https://www.unknowndivide.com/memphis-design-explained/) and our breakdown of the [Togo sofa](https://www.unknowndivide.com/togo-sofa-explained/), and if you are shopping early for the holidays, our [gifts for design lovers](https://www.unknowndivide.com/gifts-for-design-lovers/) list is a good place to start.
