# Dune: Part Three Final Trailer Is Here, in Theaters and IMAX December 18

The [Dune: Part Three](https://www.dunemovie.com/?ref=unknowndivide.com) final trailer is here. Warner Bros. posted it to its official YouTube channel on the morning of Tuesday, October 27, a day after a short clip promised "Final. Trailer. Tomorrow." It runs two minutes and forty one seconds, it comes with a four word tagline, "Do not fear the end," and it is the last big look before Denis Villeneuve's trilogy wraps up in theaters and IMAX on December 18.

## Where the story picks up

The official synopsis jumps nearly two decades past the end of Part Two. Paul Atreides took control of the Imperium, and now he is a ruthless Emperor who has to live with what his reign has done. Old allies return, new threats appear and betrayal "lurks in every shadow." Paul is haunted by visions of the Imperial order collapsing and by the return of his long-lost love, and he is pulled into a sweeping conspiracy with Chani at the center of it. The studio sums up the stakes as Paul confronting "the true cost of power" and the fate of the people he loves most.

Warner Bros. also cut the trailer into a run of short teasers on the same afternoon, each with its own title: "The cost of power," "Fremen keep their word," "Family protector," "Running out of time" and "Words without power." Taken together they read like a map of the themes this final chapter is built on.

## Who is in it

The studio's billing reads Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya, Jason Momoa, Florence Pugh, Rebecca Ferguson and Isaach de Bankolé, with Charlotte Rampling, with Anya Taylor-Joy and Robert Pattinson, and Javier Bardem. Chalamet, Pugh and Rampling are billed as Oscar nominees and Bardem as an Oscar winner.

## Who made it

Villeneuve directs from a screenplay he wrote with Brian K. Vaughan, based on the novels by Frank Herbert. The producers are Mary Parent, Tanya Lapointe, Villeneuve, Cale Boyter and Joe Caracciolo, Jr. Behind the camera are director of photography Linus Sandgren, production designer Patrice Vermette, editor Joe Walker, costume designer Jacqueline West, casting director Francine Maisler and composer Hans Zimmer. Visual effects are led by supervisor Paul Lambert with visual effects supervisor Mag Sarnowska and the effects house DNEG.

It is a Legendary Pictures production, presented by Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures in association with Image Nation Studios. Warner Bros. Pictures distributes it worldwide, with Legendary East handling China.

## Dates and tickets

- **December 16, 2026:** international release begins.
- **December 18, 2026:** opens only in theaters and IMAX across North America.

The film carries the Filmed For IMAX label on its official poster and trailer, so if you are going to see it once, see it on the biggest screen you can get to.

## Our call

This is the big one for December. A tagline like "Do not fear the end" and a story about an Emperor paying for his own power make this sound like the darkest chapter yet, and a twenty year jump forward is a bold way to close a trilogy. Rewatch Part One and Part Two before the 18th, then book the largest format near you early, because event releases like this fill up fast in the opening week.
