## Inside the release

The notes introduce H-M O as Hanna-Mari Ojala, a self-taught artist from Oulu, Finland, whose work spans experimental music, dance and video poetry. They describe The Lamenting Window as her most personal record and her first singer-songwriter album, moving from heartbreak toward hope and healing. The notes also mention that the album begins and ends in the same sonic space.

According to the notes, the songs grew out of poems H-M O wrote when she was younger. The tracklist opens with When I Want It to Scream, followed by Call for My Soul to Come Back, For the Birds (of Prayer) and Fireflies, and it closes with Birds & Bees, which the notes tie to renewal.

## From the release notes

The notes on the EP's Bandcamp page set the scene: "With a penchant for experimental electronic music, she crafts her compositions with the freedom to explore the abstract and the visceral, turning the tangible into the intangible and vice versa."

Later, the notes add: "It navigates the emotional landscape from heartbreak to hope, encapsulating a poetic journey that resonates with the transformative power of healing. The album begins and concludes within the same auditory space, though the internal journey it represents evolves profoundly from start to finish."
