According to [Apple's announcement](https://www.apple.com/newsroom/2026/09/apple-unveils-iphone-duo/?ref=unknowndivide.com), customers in more than 70 countries and regions can preorder now, including the U.S., Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Colombia, the UK, France, Germany, Türkiye, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), India, China, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, Vietnam and Australia. Availability in those markets begins October 23\. A second wave of 28 more countries and regions follows on Friday, October 30. Apple says you can preorder on apple.com and in the Apple Store app, then choose home delivery or pickup at an Apple Store. Every Apple Store also has the phone to see in person. Apple's two cases for it, the iPhone Duo Case and the iPhone Duo Folio with Kickstand, could also be ordered starting today. ## What makes it a Duo Apple has not spelled out the name, but the hardware explains it: this is an iPhone with two screens. Closed, a 5.4-inch outer display gives you what Apple says is 90 percent of the screen area of iPhone 18 Pro in a pocketable shape. Open it and a 7.6-inch inner display appears, which Apple says is 50 percent larger than iPhone 18 Pro Max and the largest display ever on an iPhone. Both screens share the same aspect ratio, so content scales up instead of reshuffling, and the "Duo" name carries into features like Duo Preview and Duo FaceTime. - **Thin and titanium.** Apple calls it the thinnest iPhone ever when open, at 5.2 millimeters (11.3 millimeters closed), with a grade 5 titanium enclosure and a hinge built from more than 100 components. - **Displays.** Both are Super Retina XDR (extreme dynamic range) organic light-emitting diode (OLED) panels with ProMotion up to 120Hz and Always-On. The inner screen has a nano-texture finish that Apple says cuts glare and minimizes crease visibility. - **Durability.** Ceramic Shield 2 on the front, Ceramic Shield on the back, and an IP68 (Ingress Protection) rating for splash, water and dust resistance. - **Touch ID, not Face ID.** The fingerprint sensor sits in the side button so unlocking works the same open or closed. - **A20 Pro.** The same chip as iPhone 18 Pro, paired with a vapor chamber. Apple claims up to 35 percent better sustained performance than iPhone 17 Pro. - **Two batteries.** One on each side. Apple rates it at up to 31 hours of video playback on the inner display, up to 44 hours on the outer display, and up to 24 hours of typical use. - **Cameras built around the fold.** A 48MP (megapixel) Fusion Main camera with an optical-quality 2x Telephoto, a 48MP Fusion Ultra Wide, a 12MP Center Stage camera on the outside and a new FaceTime camera hidden under the inner display. Duo Preview shows your subject the shot on the outer screen, and Smart Take can fire the shutter automatically when people pose. - **Software that folds with it.** It ships with iOS 27.1, adds Split View for two apps side by side, and can run StandBy on either screen even when it is not charging. Apple says Apple Pencil (USB-C) support arrives later this year. ## Which model to get There is only one iPhone Duo, so the real choices are color and storage. The colors are star white and night sky. Storage comes in 256 gigabytes (GB), 512GB, 1 terabyte (TB) and 2TB. The 18 Pro is 6.3 inches and the 18 Pro Max is 6.9 inches. - **Zoom.** The Pro models add a 48MP Fusion Telephoto and a Fusion Main with variable aperture, with optical zoom options out to 8x.
