Wood lighting usually means a turned base or a bentwood shade. The new [Krasnogorov Studio x Blueprint](https://blueprintlighting.com/collections/krasnogorov-studio-x-blueprint?ref=unknowndivide.com) collection goes much further. New York's Blueprint Lighting and Krasnogorov Studio have carved a whole debut collection out of the plant world, with sconces, chandeliers and a floor lamp shaped like orchids, irises, cyclamen, freesia and pothos leaves, every piece hand finished in solid wood.

## The Orchid sconce

The piece that stops you is the [Orchid](https://blueprintlighting.com/products/orchid?ref=unknowndivide.com). It rises from a slender stem into one arched, wing-like flower, and that sculpted petal cradles a glowing globe of blown glass or alabaster. In a dark wood finish it looks less like a light fitting and more like a carving that happens to glow. It is the kind of object that makes a hallway feel like a gallery.

## Pothos, the wood sconce that grows

The [Pothos](https://blueprintlighting.com/products/pothos?ref=unknowndivide.com) series is the clever one. It starts with a single tapering leaf poised against the wall, with blown glass or honed alabaster lighting up the grain. Pothos 2 joins two leaves along a straight rod, like a vine's first stretch. Pothos 3 puts three leaves on arms you can set in a straight run, a zigzag or a gentle curve, and Pothos 4 takes its final shape on installation, arranged however the room calls for. The idea borrows straight from the plant, which sends each new leaf wherever it likes.

## Wooden chandeliers and a floor lamp

For the ceiling there are two showpieces. The [Cyclamen 3 Tier](https://blueprintlighting.com/products/cyclamen-3-tier?ref=unknowndivide.com) takes its name from the Greek word for circle, a nod to the way the flower's stem curls once it has bloomed. Solid wood blooms cascade across three radiating tiers from a sculptural canopy on brass arms, with a blown glass globe inside each set of petals. The Freesia chandelier copies the way freesia carries its flowers along one side of the stem: six hand-turned wood shades in two rows of three, each hanging from a brass rod that runs parallel to the floor.

The [Iris Floor Lamp](https://blueprintlighting.com/products/iris-floor-lamp?ref=unknowndivide.com) is grounded the way an iris is, with a weighted wood base standing in for the rhizome that keeps the plant upright, and a tall stem that opens into staggered blooms at different heights.

## Finishes and where to see it

The whole collection comes in four wood finishes, Chene, Cerused, Tobacco and Ebonized, paired with brass, bronze, enamel, pewter and nickel. The collection page also names the lotus among its plant references, though no lotus piece is listed yet. Everything is available through Blueprint's site. If you were hoping to see the pieces in person, note that Blueprint is moving to the NYDC at 200 Lexington and has paused showroom appointments until January 2027.

## Why it matters

This one is Surfacing. Botanical lighting is everywhere right now, but most of it is printed, cast or bent. Carving these forms in solid wood, with real grain running through every petal, puts this collection closer to furniture making than to the lighting aisle.
