Plus the full series in order. - Author: unknowndivide staff - Tags: Culture, #surfacing The new ACOTAR book is finally here. Sarah J. Maas returns to *A Court of Thorns and Roses* (ACOTAR) today with [A Court of Splintered Harmony](https://www.bloomsbury.com/us/court-of-splintered-harmony-9781639739134/?ref=unknowndivide.com), the sixth book in the series and the opening chapter of a new arc called The Valkyrie Cycle. Bloomsbury Publishing released it on October 27, 2026 as a 352-page hardback and an ebook, and the next installment already has a date. If you have been waiting since *A Court of Silver Flames*, this is the night to start reading. The [official Sarah J. Maas site](https://sarahjmaas.com/?ref=unknowndivide.com) has switched its banner to "out now" for book six and lists book seven, *A Court of Forgotten Melody*, for January 12, 2027\. That makes this one of the shortest gaps between ACOTAR books yet, so a fast reread before the new year is very doable. ## What A Court of Splintered Harmony is about The story picks up with Prythian still rebuilding after the Hybern War. Deep in the continent, an ancient threat named Koschei the Deathless, bound to a mountain lake for thousands of years, is starting to stir, and his reach is pulling in allies who want the human lands back. The Night Court refuses to sit still while innocents get hurt, but its own inner circle is shaken by betrayals and hard truths. The title says it all: to beat Koschei, they have to repair the splintered harmony between them first. Bloomsbury describes the book as "Movement I" of The Valkyrie Cycle, which signals a bigger musical structure running through the next part of the saga. The official site also notes that the series is in development for television, so the fandom is not slowing down any time soon. ## ACOTAR books in order Here is the full series in publication order, as listed on the [official ACOTAR series page](https://sarahjmaas.com/a-court-of-thorns-roses-series/?ref=unknowndivide.com): 1. **A Court of Thorns and Roses.** Feyre, a mortal huntress, kills a wolf in the woods and pays for it with a trip into the faerie lands of Prythian. 2. **A Court of Mist and Fury.** The fan favorite, where Feyre's world opens up and the Night Court takes center stage. 3. **A Court of Wings and Ruin.** War arrives, and the original trilogy closes in a big way. 4. **A Court of Frost and Starlight.** A shorter, cozy winter interlude that bridges the first arc to what comes next. 5. **A Court of Silver Flames.** Nesta Archeron steps into the lead in a fierce, emotional rivals-to-lovers story. 6. **A Court of Splintered Harmony.** Out today, and the first movement of The Valkyrie Cycle. 7. **A Court of Forgotten Melody.** Coming January 12, 2027, with pre-orders open now. New readers should start at book one, not book six. The [official reading guide](https://sarahjmaas.com/reading-guide/?ref=unknowndivide.com) walks through all three Maas series, including Throne of Glass and Crescent City, and confirms you can begin with whichever one calls to you. Book four is short, but it sets up threads the later books lean on, so do not skip it. ## Shop the ACOTAR series - [A Court of Splintered Harmony by Sarah J.
