These are the five best new metal albums of October 2026. - Author: unknowndivide staff - Tags: Music October 2026 was a heavy month in the best sense. Death-doom led the way, Finland delivered a big melodic record, a cult doom band came back, and a Swedish supergroup kept the old school sound alive. These are the best new metal albums of October 2026. How we picked: every album here came out in October 2026, every fact comes from the artist or label, and every link goes to the official store or Bandcamp page so your money reaches the people who made the record. We listen front to back, and we favor records that reward a second and third spin over ones that only make a good first impression. ## Mother of Graves, The Light That Keeps Us ![Mother of Graves The Light That Keeps Us cover art](https://storage.ghost.io/c/25/41/254117cc-2631-4fb7-9f78-fa31eac12f1a/content/images/2026/11/mog.jpg) **Label:** Profound Lore Records. **Released:** October 16, 2026. The Indianapolis death-doom five-piece pairs death metal weight with the romantic ache of melodic doom across eight songs. Guitarist Ben Sandman produced it, and longtime mastering engineer Dan Swanö steps up to sing on opener Wingless Soul. Crushing and very human.
