Most side-by-sides are sold as weekend toys that can be raced. The new Polaris RZR Pro R Factory Boost works the other way around. It is a race car first, built by Polaris engineers in Roseau, Minnesota, and sold only through a specialist distributor to teams who plan to run it hundreds of miles across the desert. Polaris and RZR Factory Racing [unveiled it on October 30, 2026](https://ir.polaris.com/news/news-details/2026/POLARIS-AND-RZR-FACTORY-RACING-UNVEIL-ALL-NEW-RZR-PRO-R-FACTORY-BOOST-RACE-MACHINE/default.aspx?ref=unknowndivide.com) at the company's Camp RZR event at the Glamis Imperial Sand Dunes.

## Polaris RZR Pro R Factory Boost: Three Machines, One Name

The naming gets confusing fast, so here is the family tree. The production RZR Pro R Boost is the turbo model you can buy from a dealer. The Gen 2 RZR Pro R Factory is Polaris' existing race machine, the one that has carried the team through the biggest off-road events. The new Factory Boost joins that Gen 2 car rather than replacing it, taking the production turbo engine and the lessons from the Factory program and building a bigger, stronger chassis around them.

## What Makes It a Race Car

The heart of it is a race-tuned, turbocharged ProStar Fury 2.0L four-cylinder that makes up to 400 horsepower depending on drive mode. Rear-mounted cooling runs dual 500-watt radiator fans and three intercooler fans to keep that output steady when temperatures climb.

The bigger change is the frame. According to the [official model page](https://www.polaris.com/en-us/off-road/rzr/models/rzr-pro-r-factory-boost/?ref=unknowndivide.com), a Geiser-built chassis stretches the wheelbase by 6.5 inches to 111 inches, widens the cab by two inches and lowers the rolled roof by half an inch. The body is full carbon fiber, shaped with computational fluid dynamics at speeds above 100 mph. A 45-gallon fuel cell replaces the old 34-gallon setup and pushes range past 200 miles, which in desert racing means fewer pit stops.

Suspension pairs three-inch FOX X2 internal bypass shocks with DYNAMIX DVS, which manages 12 suspension channels in real time. A full MoTeC package with an M150 ECU and dual power distribution modules handles the electronics, and the car is pre-wired for navigation, radio, helmet pumpers, lighting and even a front-mounted Starlink system. It rides on 35-inch BFGoodrich KR2 tires and Method 407 wheels, and it is legal for SCORE, AORC and Ultra 4 racing.

## Who Can Actually Buy One

This is not a showroom vehicle. Orders go through SCI Distribution in San Diego, the exclusive distributor that also handles spare parts, upfit packages, pre-race shakedowns and driver and navigator training. Quantities are limited and the first order window closes February 15, 2027\. Polaris lists pricing on its [RZR site](https://www.polaris.com/en-us/off-road/rzr/?ref=unknowndivide.com), and a Rock Package adds skid plates, reinforced suspension and an integrated winch for rock racing.

The public debut on course comes at the 2027 King of the Hammers, where RZR Factory Racing plans to run it in multiple races.
