[PONS](https://ponsbandofficial.bandcamp.com/album/racecar?ref=unknowndivide.com) just put the pedal down. **RACECAR**, the new album from the shape-shifting New York band, is out today on **Casa Gogol Records**. CD and digital are live now, a vinyl preorder is coming shortly, and the official album trailer is already spinning.

PONS, RACECAR, the official album trailer from the band's YouTube channel.

## PONS band RACECAR: what landed today

Eleven songs, about 41 minutes. The record opens on Autograph and City Slicker, cuts through Bronson, Million Dollar Man and On the Lam, then hits the Hot Air prelude and full track before the long swing of If Not Now, Plight of the Fool, Mask Eats Face and the one-minute Crashtest closer. Jack Parker writes and sings, with synthesizers, programming, guitar and percussion in the mix. Ozzie Silva is on drums. Strings arranged with Steve La Rosa bring violin, viola and cello into the frame, plus flute, marimba, saxophone and trombone guest spots. Zoltan Sindhu produced, engineered and mixed. Dave Cooley mastered. Cover art is by Ian Frasca.

Bandcamp's own note frames the mood in three words: life in the fast lane. The songs chase status, hustle and mask-wearing city life without turning into costume rock. Autograph plays like a cover-boy manifesto. City Slicker walks the street at night-rate. If Not Now stretches past five minutes and keeps asking the title question until it feels like a dare. Earlier singles already sketched the lane. The full album locks them into one continuous ride.

## Casa Gogol Records and the studio cast

Casa Gogol Records is the label stamp on the Apple Music and Bandcamp release pages, with the (c) 2026 line sitting under the album. The studio credits are unusually wide for a club-rock record: two violinists, viola, cello, flute and woodwinds, marimba, guitar and saxophone, trombone, and extra synthesizer and backing vocals. That depth is why the songs feel bigger than a four-piece demo even when the lyrics stay sharp and street-level.

## Why it matters

This one is Surfacing. Casa Gogol putting a full PONS album into the world on day-and-date CD and digital is a clean, loud release move, and the string-heavy studio cast gives the songs a bigger room than a typical club-rock demo. Pair it with the wider picks in [the best new albums of October](https://www.unknowndivide.com/best-albums-october-2026/) and the studio deep cut in [Who Made It: Coltrane's Blue Train](https://www.unknowndivide.com/who-made-it-john-coltrane-blue-train-neumann-u47/), then keep an ear on [SOUND FUJI's King Records reissue wave](https://www.unknowndivide.com/sound-fuji-king-records-light-in-the-attic-japanese-rare-groove-vinyl/) if you are building a late-year listening stack.
