## Inside the release

According to the notes, Trappings is the soundtrack to an imagined city, inspired by long walks and a Blade Runner-style world. It mixes jazz noir, cyberpunk and a sense of isolation, and began life as a planned Radiohead-style EP (extended play) before growing into an album. The notes point to EVILDOER, Kaneda, I Heard the Rats and Down and Down and Down, and say the title track features Tony Wilt and the album closes with Mosquito Tundra.

According to the notes, the album follows a character spiraling inward through alleyways, jazz clubs and neon-lit rooms, and its textures and electronic elements collide into what the notes call a dissonant harmony that feels human, but maybe not entirely. They close by describing the album as architecture, emotion, static and memory, scored for a world built on dream logic and broken sound.

## From the release notes

The notes on the album's Bandcamp page set the scene: "Inspired by long walks through imagined streets and late-night visions of a Blade Runner-like world, Spencer Delgado's latest album weaves together jazz noir, cyberpunk decay, and a deep sense of emotional isolation."

Later, the notes add: "At its heart, Trappings is about the feeling of being a synth in a world that's forgotten what it means to feel."
