Most sites in this space are built around volume: cover everything, rank everything, and let the affiliate links sort out what gets recommended. Unknowndivide works the other way. We cover fewer things, we say what we think about them, and we would rather leave a category empty than fill it with something we would not buy ourselves. This page explains how that works in practice.
Unknowndivide is operated by Labile Media Group.
How we choose what we cover
A post on Unknowndivide is a decision that a record, an object, a piece of gear or an idea deserves a few minutes of your attention. We look for things that are well made, well designed or genuinely new, and for the classics that never needed replacing. We skip press-release rewrites, hype for its own sake and roundups padded to thirty items.
For buying guides, gift guides and comparisons, we start from what a product is for and who it suits, then work through official specifications, manufacturer documentation, long-term owner feedback and published reviews, alongside our own experience with the category. We do not run a testing lab, and we will not pretend to. When a recommendation depends on something we could not confirm, we leave it out or say so. Prices change constantly, so when we mention one it reflects what we saw at the time of writing, and we never invent a price.
Independence
Our picks are not for sale. Brands and retailers do not pay to be included in a guide, and they do not review or approve our coverage before it is published. Commissions and ad revenue never decide what we cover or what we say about it. If we ever publish sponsored content, or write about a product we received for free, we will say so clearly in that post.
Affiliate links and advertising
Unknowndivide is supported by readers and advertisers. Some links on the site are affiliate links, including links to Amazon. If you click one and buy something, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases. The site also shows ads served by Google AdSense. Guides that contain affiliate links carry a disclosure near the top, and our affiliate disclosure explains the full picture. Our privacy policy covers how ads and cookies work.
Corrections
We get things wrong sometimes. When we do, we fix them. Small errors such as a typo or a broken link are corrected quietly. Factual errors that change the meaning of a post, such as a wrong release date, a misattributed design or an incorrect specification, are corrected in the text, and significant corrections are noted in the post. Recommendations are updated when a product is discontinued or something better replaces it.
Get in touch
