Film and game coverage moves at trailer speed. A teaser drops, a release date slips, and the conversation is over before anything comes out. We try to write about the things that last a little longer: the films people will still argue about in ten years, the strange ones that nearly vanished, and the games that try something a bigger studio would not risk.
Horror shows up often here, and not by accident. It is the genre where small budgets and real ideas still win, which is why our A24 horror guide is the best place to start. It runs through nine films in the order they arrived, from The Witch to Talk to Me. After that, the cult corner is worth the detour: New York Ninja, shot in 1984 and finished by Vinegar Syndrome decades later, and Spookies, two films stitched into one haunted house.
On the games side we care less about raw power and more about intent: a small game about grief from a two-person studio, a Nintendo 64 rebuilt in hardware rather than emulated, and a plain answer on which GTA 6 edition to buy. Every film and game story we have published is linked below, each with a line on why it is worth your time.
