The box is open. Clive Barker's Hellraiser: Revival has been out since October 8, 2026 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC (personal computer) through Steam, and with Halloween two weeks away it is the horror game everyone is circling. Saber Interactive developed and published it, and the headline for longtime fans is simple: Doug Bradley, the original Pinhead, is back in the role for the first time in nearly two decades.
What the game is
Revival is a single-player, first-person action horror survival game. You play Aidan, who has to use a mysterious puzzle box called the Genesis Configuration to help his girlfriend Sunny escape the Labyrinth, the otherworldly hellscape at the center of the series. Along the way you strike a bargain with Pinhead and fight the cult devoted to the Cenobites, including the Scarlet Church. The box is the whole hook. Its powers, among them the iconic Hell Chains, work in combat and in puzzles, and you pair them with an arsenal of very earthly weapons. Per the official game site, it is a brand new story in the Hellraiser canon rather than a remake of any film.
Saber's own support FAQ fills in the practical details. A playthrough runs around 8 to 12 hours depending on your style. It plays offline, supports Xbox Play Anywhere, and the studio says the game contains no generative artificial intelligence. It targets 30 or 60 frames per second on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, and 30 frames per second on Xbox Series S and Switch 2. Saber also says it plans patches but no downloadable content or content updates, so what launched is the whole story.
Doug Bradley, Clive Barker and a Peaches rework
Saber confirmed Bradley's return when it revealed the game in July 2025, and he voices Pinhead in the game. He also turns up somewhere less expected: the launch trailer is scored to a Revival rework of a Peaches song, produced by Steve Molitz with additional vocals by Doug Bradley, licensed to Kill Rock Stars and Smilodon Music as a Saber Interactive release.
Barker's name sits on the title for a reason. The official site notes that the Hellraiser and The Hellbound Heart titles, characters and themes are licensed for video games by Clive Barker and Park Avenue Entertainment. The Hellbound Heart is the 1986 novella where all of this started, and it is still the best way into the mythology.
Editions, platforms and the demo
There are two main versions. The Standard Edition comes digitally and on disc for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, while Switch 2 copies use a game-key card, with Switch 2 retail copies arriving October 30. The digital Deluxe Edition adds the Nailer melee weapon, a Cenobite shotgun skin, a Punisher baseball bat skin, a Leviathan weapon charm, a digital art book, the digital soundtrack, a digital Bleeding Hearts novella and an 80s horror movie filter. Boss Team Games handles the Collector's Editions. Not sure yet? The free Steam demo has been live since September 17, and as of October 15 the full game holds a Very Positive user rating on Steam.
