The Back To Black 20th anniversary edition is four days out. To mark two decades since Amy Winehouse first released Back To Black on October 27, 2006, Island Records and Universal Music Enterprises (UMe) are reissuing the album on Friday, October 23, 2026, with four unreleased demos, rare B-sides and a live set from the Back To Black tour that has never been released in full on vinyl or streaming. If "Rehab," "Tears Dry On Their Own" and "Love Is A Losing Game" live somewhere in your bones, this is the edition to pre-order now.
What is new here
The headline is the third disc: Amy live at Paradiso in Amsterdam on February 8, 2007, in the middle of the Back To Black tour. Then there are the demos. The demo side includes original demos of "Back To Black" and "Love Is A Losing Game" and the alternative demo of "Tears Dry," which is already streaming as an official visualiser. The B-sides include "Valerie (Live at BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge)," cut for British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) Radio 1, plus "Monkey Man," "Hey Little Rich Girl" and "You're Wondering Now."
The package is new too. The deluxe editions wear brand new alternative cover artwork, including an image of Amy's handwritten lyrics from Mark Ronson's archive, never-before-seen photos by the original album photographers Mischa Richter and Alex Lake, and new liner notes from Ronson and Remi. "It's crazy that six songs made in a fit of furious musical infatuation would matter so deeply to so many people twenty years later," Ronson writes.
Every edition, explained
Deluxe Clear Vinyl 3LP. Three clear long-playing records (LPs): the original album on the first, B-sides and demos on the second, and eleven songs from Paradiso on the third. This is the one for the shelf. Pre-order it at the uDiscover Music store, the label's official US store.
Deluxe 3CD and digital deluxe. The most music of any format. The compact disc (CD) set expands the bonus disc with extras including "Cupid," "To Know Him Is To Love Him," "You Know I'm No Good" featuring Ghostface Killah and a down tempo "Some Unholy War," and its Paradiso disc runs fourteen songs, adding "Cherry" and "I Heard Love Is Blind." The 3CD is open for pre-order, and the digital deluxe carries the same tracklist.
Zoetrope 1LP. The original album, pressed for the first time as a zoetrope record with colorful moving images of Amy that animate as it spins, in a die-cut sleeve. The label calls it a webstore exclusive, and the Zoetrope LP is still listed for pre-order. A limited Chalkboard Marble color vinyl of the original album completes the set.
As we write this, the 3LP, 3CD and Zoetrope LP all show as available to pre-order at both the US store and the official Amy Winehouse store in the United Kingdom.
Our call
This one is Surfacing. Back To Black is one of the defining albums of the 2000s, and the Paradiso set finally gives that tour a proper document on record. Vinyl collectors should go straight for the clear 3LP. If you want every last demo and B-side, the 3CD or digital deluxe has the most. The Zoetrope LP is the one to frame.
