System of a Down has announced a stadium show at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California, on Saturday, June 5, 2027, with Pierce The Veil as special guests. The band revealed the date on its official channels this morning under the banner "Live at the Rose Bowl," after a "details tomorrow" teaser the night before. It lands at the end of a week the band spent marking 25 years of Toxicity, and the presale sign-up is already open.
How to get tickets
Tickets start with an artist presale, and you have to sign up for it first. Registration runs through the band's Live Nation presale page until Wednesday, October 21 at 9 PM Pacific Time (PT). The band says even its mailing list subscribers must register to get access, and there will be no code. Your access is tied to your Ticketmaster account instead.
The presale opens on Friday, October 23 at 10 AM PT, and the general on-sale follows on Monday, October 26. If you want in, register before Wednesday night. Being on the band's email list alone will not get you into the presale.
The only North American date on the 2027 calendar
The tour dates on the band's site show a run of stadium shows with Faith No More early in 2027:
- January 15: Maracanã Stadium, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
- January 22: Accor Stadium, Sydney Olympic Park, Australia
- January 27: Marvel Stadium, Melbourne, Australia (listed as sold out)
- February 1: Suncorp Stadium, Brisbane, Australia (listed as sold out)
- February 7: Hnry Stadium, Wellington, New Zealand
After that, Pasadena on June 5 is the only North American show listed for 2027. Before any of it, the band plays the Sick New World Texas festival in Fort Worth this Saturday, October 24.
Toxicity at 25
Toxicity, the band's second album, came out on September 4, 2001. Its tracklist includes the title track and "Aerials." To mark the anniversary, the band ran a free Toxicity exhibition with Beyond the Streets on La Brea Avenue in Los Angeles from October 13 to 18, filled with rare artifacts and ephemera from that era.
The band also put new anniversary editions in its official store. The Toxicity 25th Anniversary Edition vinyl pairs the original album with a 7-inch single of "Johnny," a track that was previously only a bonus on rare 2001 editions. The single's B-side has an etched design, and a double-sided poster is included. The packaging also corrects an old mistake. The hidden closing track is now named "Der Voghormia," an Armenian hymn whose title translates to "Lord Have Mercy," after earlier pressings called it "Arto." In its own words, the band performs the song live to remember the 1.5 million souls who lost their lives in 1915, during the Armenian Genocide.
A store-exclusive vinyl variant has already sold out. The standard black pressing and the Toxicity 25th Anniversary Exclusive CD (compact disc), with new cover art and a 24-page booklet, were still listed as available when we checked.
Our call
This one is Surfacing. One of the biggest heavy bands of its era is giving North America a single stadium night in 2027, right as Toxicity turns 25. If you can make Pasadena, register for the presale today. If you can't, the anniversary vinyl with "Johnny" is the easiest way to mark the moment at home.
