The Cranberries Wake Up and Smell the Coffee is turning 25, and the band is marking it with a record you can actually watch move. The band's fifth album returns as a remastered 25th anniversary edition on January 29, 2027, and the headline piece is a limited liquid coffee vinyl, a playable LP filled with coffee-colored liquid that shifts as it spins. Orders opened October 22 in the official Cranberries store.
The liquid coffee LP
This is the one collectors will chase. The band's store describes it as a limited edition liquid coffee filled LP that comes with a scratch and sniff coffee-scented sticker. The label's stores explain how it works: a sealed layer of liquid sits inside a fully playable record, so the color moves as the platter turns, and the liquid does not affect playback. Each copy goes through extra filling and sealing steps that standard pressings skip, so no two look exactly alike. Orders are capped at four per customer, which tells you how fast the label expects it to go.
It carries the original 13-track album, from "Never Grow Old" and "Analyse" through "Time Is Ticking Out," the title track and "Chocolate Brown." Treat it with care, too. The label warns against extreme temperatures and unnecessary stress on the disc.
Every edition
If you want more than the album, the deluxe sets are where the extras live. The band's store lists the full lineup:
- Limited Deluxe Edition 3LP, with the remastered album, a second LP of new 2026 mixes by producer Stephen Street and a third LP of bonus tracks
- 2CD Deluxe Edition, with the same remaster, mixes and bonus tracks
- Limited edition Skyburst Blue color LP
- Standard black LP and a single CD
- The liquid coffee LP
The bonus disc is the draw for longtime fans. It gathers the bonus tracks "Capetown," "In The Ghetto," "Many Days" and "Such A Waste," plus the sought-after "7 Years," an "Analyse" Oceanic Long Version and a Marius de Vries remix edit of "Time Is Ticking Out." It closes with three unreleased live recordings from Vicar Street: "Shattered," "Loud & Clear" and "In The Ghetto." The deluxe sets also add new photos, liner notes and a track-by-track look back from the band.
"Such A Waste" is already streaming as a 2027 remaster, so you can hear the cleanup before the box arrives. Every format is also listed on the band's official link page.

Our call
This one is Surfacing. Liquid-filled vinyl is a gimmick when it has nothing to do with the music, but coffee in a record called Wake Up and Smell the Coffee is the rare case where the joke lands. If you want one, order it now. If you care about the songs more than the spectacle, the 3LP with the Stephen Street mixes and the Vicar Street tracks is the real prize.
