Suseti & Henrik Meierkord released Trakt on May 3, 2024 through Labile Records. It is a 5-track EP (extended play) with a total running time of about 22 minutes.
Inside the release
Trakt brings together Suseti, the new age musician Sunil Sharma, and Henrik Meierkord, who plays cello, double bass and viola, according to the notes. The notes say Sharma has worked in new age music since 2010 and builds his soundscapes around nature. The album was recorded in two places: Soundbread Studios in Stockholm, Sweden, and Shivshakti in Kullu, India.
The album has five tracks, numbered Trakt I through Trakt V, which the notes describe as one journey across musical and geographic landscapes. According to the notes, the mix of recording locations in Sweden and India carries over into the music, which draws on several styles.
From the release notes
The notes on the EP's Bandcamp page set the scene: "This album is an exquisite fusion of new-age music with enthralling instrumental elements, promising a unique auditory journey for listeners."
Later, the notes add: "His soundscapes are not just music; they are an experience, inviting listeners to embark on a journey through serene and unexplored sonic territories. Joining him is Henrik Meierkord, a virtuoso of instruments like the cello, double bass, and viola. Meierkord's mastery adds depth and emotional resonance to the album, seamlessly melding with Sharma's innovative style."
