Apple HomeView is Apple's new answer to the shared screen in the kitchen, hallway and nightstand. Announced today, it is a 7-inch Liquid Retina hub built around face recognition, Siri AI and room-filling sound, with pre-orders open now at the Apple Store ahead of a November 13 arrival in the US, UK, Canada, Australia, India and New Zealand.

What Apple HomeView actually is

Think of it as a personal home screen that the whole household can share. The tabletop model sits on a domed aluminum speaker base, joined by a stainless steel hinge so the display tilts for counters, side tables and bedsides. It ships in silver, starlight, rose pink and space gray, each with a matching cable. A separate wall-mounted version, in space gray and silver, uses purpose-built mounts from Schneider Home for entryways and hallways.

The display is a 7-inch Liquid Retina panel with True Tone and automatic brightness that stretches from 500 nits in a bright room down to 0.3 nits for overnight. The interface itself changes with distance: simpler from across the room, denser as you step closer. Full specs live on Apple's HomeView specs page.

Face recognition and Siri AI

HomeView can recognize up to six people by face and hand each one a private Home Screen with their own apps and widgets. Personal Messages, Calendar and Find My content only surface when that person is recognized and their paired iPhone or iPad is nearby and recently unlocked. Guests still get music, timers and smart home controls without touching anyone else's private data.

Siri AI, powered by Apple Intelligence and the A18 chip, is built in. Anyone in the home can ask about nearly any topic. Pair it with an Apple Intelligence-enabled iPhone or iPad and Siri draws on personal context across Messages, Calendar and Apple Music. Conversations that start on HomeView continue in the Siri app on iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch or Apple Vision Pro. Camera and microphone audio run through Secure Exclaves on the silicon, so recognition data stays isolated from the rest of the system and from Apple.

Entertainment, calls and the smart home

Two full-range drivers in the display plus a down-firing woofer and force-cancelling radiators in the base deliver Spatial Audio for Apple Music, Podcasts, Apple TV and compatible third-party apps. Handoff lets you finish a song or recipe started on iPhone by holding the phone to the screen. Multiroom audio works with HomePod, HomePod mini and AirPlay speakers.

FaceTime with Center Stage keeps everyone framed. Intercom reaches other HomeView and HomePod speakers plus personal devices. In the kitchen, recipes from the web become step-by-step cooking flows with hands-free timers. As a home hub, HomeView controls Works with Apple Home and Matter accessories by touch or voice, streams up to nine camera feeds on the Home Camera face and works with the new Apple Home Collection of cameras, thermostats and a lock designed with LG Electronics and Schneider Electric.
