HUGO has handed its tailoring to a young Los Angeles label that thinks in volume. HUGO x entire studios, announced by HUGO BOSS on October 21, is a new menswear and womenswear capsule that mixes HUGO's suiting know how with entire studios' obsession with proportion. The result is suiting that looks like it was cut for the street, not the boardroom, and it is the most interesting thing HUGO has done with a blazer in a long time.

Who is entire studios

If the name is new to you, entire studios is a Los Angeles label founded in 2020 by New Zealand born Dylan Richards-Diaz and Sebastian Hunt. HUGO BOSS describes it as working where luxury streetwear, technical performance and minimalist design meet, with sculptural volume, monochrome palettes and utilitarian shapes. In plain terms: big, quiet clothes that still read as expensive from across the room. Pairing that with a tailoring house is a smart move for both sides.

The menswear

The men's side reworks the suit through volume and utility. A herringbone wool blazer and matching tailored trousers set the architectural tone. A structured wool overcoat and a statement shearling jacket add drama and texture, while a heavyweight cotton twill jacket brings a workwear edge. Refined knitwear and jersey separates fill out the wardrobe so the big pieces have something easy to sit on top of. On the HUGO BOSS online store, a relaxed fit grained leather jacket with a soft shearling collar and belted waistband and cuffs is already listed, and it might be the hero of the whole drop.

The womenswear

The women's pieces lean into sculpture and drape. A slightly oversized blazer and matching coat carry structured shoulders and the collection's signature pleated back construction. Voluminous trousers bring exaggerated shapes with satin detailing and engineered drape. Softer notes come from a draped cape dress and a fluid satin and chiffon dress, balanced by a sharply tailored pencil skirt and a fitted rib knit jumper with darted shaping. An oversized down filled bomber caps it off with a utility edge.

How it is meant to be worn

The brief is refreshingly loose. HUGO says the collection is designed for a next gen audience and invites individual curation rather than one correct look: layer the outerwear, wear the futuristic suiting with a relaxed, street influenced attitude, and mix pieces freely. "We wanted to explore what contemporary tailoring can become when you approach it with a different mindset," says Marco Falcioni, SVP Creative Direction at HUGO BOSS. "The collection brings together the worlds of HUGO and entire studios through proportion, experimentation, and a shared belief in creating something distinctive."

Where to get it

HUGO x entire studios is rolling out at selected HUGO stores worldwide, on hugo.com and through wholesale partners, and entire studios is featuring the collaboration on its own site.

Our call

This one is Surfacing. Big brand collaborations often play it safe, but this one actually changes the shape of HUGO tailoring. If you only buy one piece, make it outerwear: the shearling, the overcoat or that belted leather jacket.
