Kaleidoscope Home Entertainment has released Dead Howling, a post-apocalyptic werewolf versus zombies horror film from Australia. The official trailer on the Kaleidoscope YouTube channel is titled "Out 2 November," and the distributor's film page now lists the movie as available on DVD, Blu-ray, and on demand. The release is out today, November 2, 2026, in the UK.
What it is about
The official synopsis keeps the setup lean. A zombie virus has left humanity on the brink of extinction. Carter lives alone and spends his nights hunting the living dead for sport, helped by what Kaleidoscope calls "a tremendous power." That power is the hook: Carter is a werewolf. His routine breaks when he saves two siblings, Megan and Billy, who are looking for a rumored safe zone for survivors.
He reluctantly agrees to get them there. On the road, the trio has to outrun the next evolution of the undead, along with other survivors who are just as dangerous. Screen Australia's listing puts it plainly: the undead are evolving into an intelligent and far deadlier species, and a lone werewolf who lost his family becomes the protector of two teenagers.
Cast and crew
John V. Soto directs and co-wrote the script with James Pickering. Soto and Tom Reeve produce, with Matthew Helderman as executive producer, according to the official Screen Australia screen guide. The cast is led by Joel Jackson (Jungle), with Ryan Kwanten (True Blood, Dead Silence), Temuera Morrison (The Mandalorian, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom), and Tom Burlinson (The Man From Snowy River, Flesh+Blood).
Kaleidoscope sells the film as coming from the producer of the cult werewolf hit Dog Soldiers, and the release artwork adds a Terrifier 3 producer credit to the pitch. The poster also carries a FrightFest official selection laurel. Runtime is 103 minutes.

Our call
Werewolf versus zombie is the kind of matchup that sounds like a midnight pitch, and that is the appeal. The trailer leans into practical makeup, scrubland roads, and a lead who is more weapon than hero. Add a cast with real genre mileage and the Dog Soldiers lineage, and Dead Howling looks like a solid pick for anyone who still keeps a shelf of creature features. Start with the trailer, then grab whichever format fits your collection.
