Bag people who count pockets just got a new favorite. Engineered Garments x Chrome drops the MED Pac and Shoulder EG Edition today, the third collaboration between the New York label and the bike-bred bag house. Seventeen numbered pockets, two carry modes, black and olive: it is a military med bag rebuilt for city miles.

Engineered Garments x Chrome: what is in the bag

Official Engineered Garments copy frames the piece as military function tuned for everyday urban use. Large side pockets sit among the numbered compartments so you can assign gear by number instead of digging blind. Detachable shoulder and backpack straps flip the carry between crossbody and two-strap mode. Inside, a dedicated pocket holds a laptop, which is the quiet reason this bag clears a weekday commute instead of only a weekend ride.

Chrome Industries Japan's release calls this collaboration number three and keeps the silhouette close to a classic MED Pac while tightening the hardware for town use. Colors are BLACK (BG505BK) and OLIVE (BG505OL). From Fall Winter 2025, Engineered Garments design and direction sit with Kenta Miyamoto and Kunimasa Odagi, and that detail-first military eye is exactly what this bag is selling.

Engineered Garments Chrome bag: where it lands today

Sale start is Friday, November 6 at 11:30 local for Chrome's Japan stores and the Chrome online shop, with Engineered Garments pointing to Nepenthes doors and select Chrome retail plus the online store. Start on the EG story page, then open the Chrome Japan collection post and the product pages for black and olive. The Engineered Garments homepage is the wider label context if you are new to the house.

If you already own a Chrome messenger, this is the more compartmentalized sibling. If you come from Engineered Garments outerwear, it is the bag that finally matches that pocket logic on your shoulder.

Chrome's Japan release notes spell out the practical pitch without dressing it up: numbered pockets for intuitive organization, a laptop sleeve for weekday loads, and straps you can strip or swap when the day changes. Harajuku, Ueno, Kyoto, Umeda and Abeno are named among the Chrome store doors opening the bag at 11:30, alongside the online shop. Engineered Garments' own story posts the same Friday timing for Nepenthes and select Chrome retail.

Previous EG x Chrome chapters already trained fans to expect hardware that survives a bike rack and a subway pole. This MED Pac edition leans harder into compartment logic than a single cavernous main bay, which is why the numbered pocket story is the headline instead of another logo patch.

Why it matters

This one is Surfacing. A third EG x Chrome bag with numbered storage and a real two-way strap system is a clean function drop, not a logo mashup. Pair it with the tweed energy of Needles x ts(s), the holiday capsule in Stella McCartney x Yoshitomo Nara, and the leather carry note on Killspencer Wine Carrier 2.0 if your week is already bag-heavy.
