H-M O released Churning Waters on October 11, 2025 through Labile Records. It is a 3-track EP (extended play) with a total running time of about 27 minutes. The credits read: All songs written and produced by Hanna-Mari Ojala.
From the release notes
The notes on the EP's Bandcamp page set the scene: "Churning Waters, the latest EP from Finnish artist H-M O (Hanna-Mari Ojala), is an immersive exploration of sound and self that ventures into the shifting depths of the subconscious. Comprising just three long-form compositions that together span twenty-seven minutes, the work unfolds as a singular arc of descent, turbulence, and emergence."
Later, the notes add: "The opening track situates the listener in the deepest strata of being, where resonant drones and shadowy textures evoke the weight and stillness of the ocean floor. From there, the music is pulled into a spiraling current, a vortex alive with unexpected details and disorienting motion."
