LEGO Godzilla is no longer a fan wish. The LEGO Group revealed LEGO Ideas Godzilla (21375) today, on Godzilla Day, and it arrives as a 5,363 piece monster that stands about 70 centimeters (27.5 inches) tall when posed with its Heat Ray. It is the first LEGO set ever to feature Godzilla, the largest LEGO Ideas model the company has ever launched, and a Black Friday exclusive that goes on sale November 27 at LEGO.com/Godzilla and LEGO Stores.
The version here is the Titan from Legendary Entertainment's Monsterverse, the film universe that has run from the 2014 Godzilla through the Kong crossovers. That means the heavy, armored silhouette, the jagged dorsal plates in glowing blue and a tail that sweeps nearly the full length of the base.
What you actually get in the box
This is a display piece first, and it is built to dominate a shelf. According to the official LEGO announcement, the finished model measures roughly 27 centimeters wide and 40 centimeters deep, and a standard LEGO Minifigure only reaches Godzilla's ankle. The detail list reads like a creature shop brief:
- Textured, scaly skin built up from layered plates
- Adjustable head, shoulders, elbows, wrists, fingers and tail for battle poses
- A swappable tongue element that trades out for the Heat Ray, so you can rebuild the iconic upward roar
- Rated 18+, with 3D digital instructions in the LEGO Builder app if you want to zoom and rotate as you go
A fan built this one
LEGO Ideas is the platform where fans submit their own designs and the community votes them toward production. LEGO Godzilla came from New York based fan designer Matthew Esposito, who builds under the name MattE720. His project needed more than two years to cross the 10,000 supporter mark before the LEGO Ideas Review Board approved it. "The head was definitely the biggest challenge," Esposito said in the release, "but seeing the model come together and eventually reach 10,000 supporters after more than two years was incredible." You can trace the original project and its review on the LEGO Ideas blog.
Legendary is clearly happy with how its kaiju translated to bricks. "We were thrilled to partner with the LEGO Group to bring our titan to life in brick form," said Amber Sheppo, Senior Vice President of Consumer Products and Partnerships at Legendary Entertainment.
The Black Friday gift is the real play
If you want this set, the window that matters is November 27 to November 30. Anyone who buys LEGO Ideas Godzilla through LEGO.com/Godzilla or a LEGO Store in those four days gets the LEGO Ideas Godzilla Logo and Footprint set (40888) as a gift with purchase, while supplies last. It is a 359 piece build of the blue Godzilla logo against a city skyline, with Mothra perched on one of the rooftops, plus a brick-built footprint at the exact size of the big model's foot. Display them together or split them up.
LEGO Insiders, the free LEGO membership program, also get a sweepstakes entry for a signed set and a Godzilla poster reward in select markets, so it is worth signing in to LEGO Insiders before launch day. Today's reveal livestream with LEGO designers Jordan David Scott and Jim Clayton and Esposito himself runs on LEGO Live.
Our take
Big licensed LEGO drops on Black Friday tend to vanish fast, and a first-ever Godzilla with a limited gift attached is exactly the kind of set that sells through in the first weekend. Measure your shelf now, plan on a deep one, and treat November 27 as the date. Godzilla fans who want the film side of the story should catch up on the Godzilla Minus Zero trailer, and if you are building out a wider shopping list, our early Black Friday 2026 dates guide has the rest of the calendar. LEGO's last big pop culture swing on our radar was the LEGO Daft Punk set, and this one is even bigger. For more official Godzilla news, the official Godzilla site is tracking the launch too.
