Michael It'z released Chiaroscuro on February 20, 2026 through Labile Records. It is an 11-track album with a total running time of about 42 minutes.
Inside the release
The notes describe Chiaroscuro as Michael Caria's study of light and shadow, moving between stillness and motion. They walk through the album in order, starting with Suspended Air and The Shape of Collapse, then Woven Light, Invisible Loom, An Immortal Fracture, Ashen Breath, Vanishing, Echoes of Dust, Distant Glow and Azure, before closing with Eterno Fragile.
From the release notes
The notes on the album's Bandcamp page set the scene: "In Chiaroscuro, London-based artist Michael Caria (Michael It'z) explores the delicate balance between light and shadow where revelation and obscurity coexist, shaping the emotional depth of perception. The album drifts between stillness and movement, presence and dissolution, revealing a sound world suspended between clarity and decay."
Later, the notes add: "Through shifting layers of ambient electronica, IDM [intelligent dance music], and post-industrial nuance, Caria composes with contrast as his language silence as structure, texture as tone. Chiaroscuro is an auditory study in duality: how fragility becomes form, and how light, even at its faintest, reveals everything."
