E J R M & Echo Vocation released Breakthrough on February 27, 2026 through Labile Records. It is a 4-track EP (extended play) with a total running time of about 12 minutes.
Inside the release
According to the notes, Breakthrough is a collaborative EP between E J R M and Echo Vocation, made during a period of distance and reflection. It plays out as a slow conversation between the two artists, about moving out of a fog and feeling grounded again. The notes frame it as a record about the threshold between stillness and movement, and it opens with Distance.
The notes walk through each track. Distance is about recognizing how far one has drifted, and Solitude is about letting thoughts settle in stillness. The title track builds slowly toward acceptance and forgiveness, and the EP closes with Fulfilled, which the notes describe as the two artists reconnecting after their separate periods of reflection.
From the release notes
The notes on the EP's Bandcamp page set the scene: "Breakthrough is a collaborative EP by EJRM and Echo Vocation, shaped during a period of distance, stillness, and inward listening. Created across separation and reflection, the record unfolds as a slow-moving conversation between two artists navigating isolation on the way toward clarity. The music moves patiently through space and restraint, allowing tones to drift, dissolve, and quietly re-form."
Later, the notes add: "There is no urgency here, only gradual motion and the quiet pull of forward momentum. At its core, Breakthrough is a meditation on presence. It reflects the desire to emerge from mental fog, reconnect with the self, and feel grounded again."
