Factory Floor are back with a full album, and it has been a long wait. One Trip is the band's first record in a decade, and it lands on November 27, 2026 through Erol Alkan's London label Phantasy Sound. The double single Continuation / One Trip leads the way, and it already sounds like a band that found its pulse again.

How the band came back

The return started with a single invitation. In 2024, Alain Mongeau, the founder and director of MUTEK, asked Factory Floor to play the festival's flagship edition in Montreal. That one-off set turned into a new chapter. A run of singles on Phantasy followed, Between You, Tell Me and Buzz Saw, each one pointing toward the sound that now fills the album.

The lineup is a trio again. Gabe Gurnsey handles drums, percussion and electronics, Nik Colk Void plays modular synth and sings, and new member Joe Ward adds extra percussion. The band says the record reaches back to its earliest experiments in East London, when its shows felt closer to happenings or temporary installations than gigs, while carrying the energy of recent nights at Berghain, Corsica Studios, Simple Things and No Bounds.

Colk Void explains the pull in the album notes: "After the MUTEK performance, we felt an appetite to work in a space where artists could connect emotionally and physically, both in the studio and on a live stage."

What One Trip sounds like

The band frames the album as a push past its raw, noise driven beginnings into the outer edges of techno, minimalism, acid and post-industrial rhythm. The double single shows both sides. Continuation opens the record and leans dreamlike and open, a tightly run machine that still feels human. The title track goes the other way, darker and heavier, with deep modulated bass that keeps building pressure and a guiding sample that says "one trip, one dance."

Ten tracks make the cut:

  1. Continuation
  2. Big Brain
  3. DRUUUUUM
  4. One Trip
  5. Buzz Saw
  6. Between You
  7. One Two One
  8. Obsessed
  9. SOUNNNND
  10. Greedy

Buzz Saw and One Two One are flagged by the band as some of its most intense floor material yet, while Obsessed and Between You carry a brighter, more textured groove.

Where to get it

Preorders run through the band's Bandcamp page, and the vinyl sits in the Phantasy shop under catalog number PHLP27. Check both for formats and stock.

Our call

This one is Surfacing. A cult live band with a new trio lineup, a label that knows how to move club records, and two singles that already hit hard on a big system. If the rest of the album holds that line, November gets a serious techno record.
