Swedish death metal just got another heavy hand from Edged Circle. The Night Belongs to the Dead by Eldfödd lands October 30, 2026 through Edged Circle Productions, a full-length from a lineup stacked with veterans of Necrophobic, Dismember, Deströyer 666, Nifelheim and more.
Veterans under a new banner
Edged Circle's Bandcamp notes keep the pitch blunt: merciless drums, crushing riffs, violating growls. The members have already put in time on Swedish and international classics and large stages, with past credits that include Necrophobic, Dismember, Deströyer 666, Nifelheim, Darkened, Dreadful Fate, General Surgery, Under the Church, In Aphelion, Maze of Torment and Witchery. Eldfödd is the new name for that shared weight, not a young band learning the form.
The label's own artist page for the band sits at edgedcircleproductions.com/artist/eldfodd, and the album is listed as a preorder ahead of the October 30 date.
The tracklist
Ten tracks run from a short Intro into a title cut that closes the set:
- Intro
- From the Light Into the Dark
- Matriphagy
- Torturer
- Suffocating Halo
- Only Darkness Remains
- The Tomb Becomes a Womb
- Let the Serpent Swallow Them Whole
- The Triton Enigma
- The Night Belongs to the Dead
Titles like Matriphagy, Suffocating Halo and Let the Serpent Swallow Them Whole match the Bandcamp framing: decomposed, wicked and vigorous Swedish death metal that aims to swallow the listener whole.
Edged Circle has been a reliable home for that strain of Scandinavian extremity, and the label's Bandcamp and store split Norway and EU shipping so buyers can pick the route that fits. Eldfödd does not need a soft introduction. The notes say these players already have the classics behind them. The album is the proof of what they sound like together under one new name.
Where to preorder
Preorders run through the Edged Circle Bandcamp album page and the label store linked from edgedcircleproductions.com. Check both for formats, shipping regions and stock before October 30.
Our call
This one is Surfacing. A new Swedish death metal name built from people who already helped define the sound, on a Norwegian label that ships the underground without polishing the edges off. If the riffs match the resume, October 30 is a loud one for anyone who still wants their death metal mean, fast and unsoftened.
