Belgian indie trio BLUAI are back with a second album that was tracked live in five days. The Way You Talk Reminds Me Of Home lands October 30, 2026 on Unday Records, eleven songs about living between past and present while you are already in the middle of it.
Live at RAK in five days
Two years after Save It For Later and a long run of European festivals and venues, the three-piece went to London's RAK Studios with producer Isabel Gracefield. The Bandcamp notes say the full band cut all eleven songs live in five days, with frontwoman Cath singing in the room and often keeping a single take. Some songs used only one or two microphones, which leaves almost no room to fix things later.
Willem Ardui, who produced the debut, rejoined the sessions, and multi-instrumentalist Juyane Kaya added new color. The approach was deliberate: capture the stage sound instead of building a polished studio stack. The album's title comes from that thread of voice and memory, how a phrase or the way someone speaks can pull a whole history back into the room.
The tracklist
Eleven songs move between intimate writing and a fuller band push:
- When I'm Old Enough
- Alive
- Killing Time
- Greta's Couch
- The Long Run
- Runner Up
- Rosanne
- Sober
- Make A Living
- It's Gotta Be Me
- Help Is On The Way
The Bandcamp notes frame the record around conversations with family, friends, partners and people who resurface after years away. Childhood, love, grief, responsibility and the uncertainty of approaching thirty all sit in the same set of songs, without turning into a neat coming-of-age story.
Inspiration listed on the album page includes Feist, Adrianne Lenker and MJ Lenderman, which tracks with the swing between delicate writing and a fuller band push. The limited red vinyl LP on Bandcamp makes the physical edition clear for people who want the record on the shelf the week it lands.
Where to preorder
Preorders run through BLUAI's Bandcamp page, including a limited red vinyl LP, and through Unday Records on Bandcamp. The label's site at undayrecords.be carries the Belgian catalog as well. Check those for formats and stock ahead of October 30.
Our call
This one is Surfacing. A second album cut live with almost no safety net, a producer with real room-mic instincts, and songs that treat getting older as something you figure out while you are already doing it. If the debut was the introduction, this is the band sounding like itself on stage.
