Logic Pro for Mac is now at version 13.0. Apple's Logic Pro for Mac release notes, published November 5, 2026, list the changes under "New in Logic Pro for Mac 13.0," and the Creator Studio support page names Logic Pro for Mac 13.0 in the current app set. If you have been searching for the Logic Pro 13 release date, this is the official cut: 13.0 is live as an App Store update for existing Logic Pro and Apple Creator Studio users.
We covered the broader suite note in Apple Creator Studio Adds AI Tools and MotionVFX. This post stays on Logic Pro 13: new features, the assistant limits and Mac system requirements.
Logic Pro 13 new features
Apple's What's new in Logic Pro for Mac 13 guide matches the release notes on the same headline tools.
Unified Browser. One Browser searches the Logic Pro Sound Library, your samples and patches, plug-in presets, Sampler instruments and downloaded Splice sounds. Describe a sound in everyday language, use Find Similar, save Smart Searches and add your own folders as Locations. Music understanding tags added audio for tempo and key. Natural-language search and Find Similar need Apple silicon.
Enhanced Stem Splitter. Stem Splitter can now split drums into kick, snare, hi-hat, toms, cymbals and other percussion, grouped in a summing Track Stack so you can remix a drum part without the original multitracks.
Play Surface. Window > Show Play Surface (Command-K) opens an on-screen keyboard with Chord Strips or drum pads, playable from the computer keyboard, mouse, trackpad or Touch. You can open up to four Play Surfaces, keep Musical Typing, pull chords from the Chord Track and use Poly Pitch on MPE-compatible instruments.
Sidecar, Touch and Liquid Glass. An iPad on Sidecar becomes a Multi-Touch surface for Live Loops, Step Sequencer, Remix FX, mixer faders and the Play Surface. Touch also works on MacBook Pro with PROLED XDR Display. Windows, menus and transport get the translucent Liquid Glass look.
Other workflow pieces. Audio Quick Look previews a project file from the Finder. Step Sequencer gains multi-select. The inspector is consolidated. New Sound Library packs include Sergio George and Drill Yard. Mixer track stacks can show or hide subtracks independently from the Tracks area.
Logic Pro 13 intelligent assistant (beta)
The intelligent assistant takes everyday prompts for tracks, mixing, plug-ins, Session Players, arrangement and basic how-to questions. Apple's examples include creating a vocal track, loading a hall reverb, converting a drummer region to MIDI or asking how to use a compressor. Projects and prompts are not used to train models, and the chat stays with the project on that Mac.
Access is gated. The assistant beta needs an Apple Creator Studio subscription, Apple silicon, macOS 27 or later, an Apple Account with iCloud, and English only. Usage limits may apply. Standalone Logic Pro gets the rest of 13.0, but not this assistant.
Logic Pro 13 system requirements
Per About Apple Creator Studio, Logic Pro for Mac needs macOS 26.1 or later and Apple silicon. Logic Pro for iPad needs iPadOS 26 or later and an A12 Bionic iPad or later. Get it from the Mac App Store as a standalone app or through Creator Studio; check Apple for current plan details. Back up the installed app and your projects before updating.
Why it matters
This one is Surfacing. A versioned Logic Pro 13.0 cut with a real Browser rebuild, kit-piece Stem Splitter and Sidecar performance control is the practical news for people who live in this DAW. The assistant is useful beta, not the whole story.
