The puffer people actually fight over just got a bow on it. The North Face x Cecilie Bahnsen Fall Winter 2026 went live on the Copenhagen designer's store this morning, and by the time we checked, the floral embroidered Nuptse Short in black was already showing unavailable in every size. This is the fourth collaboration between the two, and it is the most complete one yet: outerwear, knit, two bags, a mule and a proper alpine boot.
Mountain gear, Bahnsen romance
The brief is simple and it works. Take The North Face's performance staples and run them through Bahnsen's romantic, sculptural language, the flowers and embroidery she is known for, without losing what makes the gear useful. The palette stays dark and quiet, black and a deep navy called Midnight Sky, so the details do the talking. Flower shaped cordpullers, flower cord locks, flower eyelets and flower appliqué tassels show up across almost every piece.
The Nuptse Short and the reversible puffer
The Nuptse Short is the headline. It keeps the cropped, relaxed shape and 700 fill recycled waterfowl down, then adds intricate floral embroidery over the shell, flower cordpullers on the centre zip and hand pockets, and flower cord locks on the hem drawcord.
The Reversible Crew Neck Puffer is the sleeper. It is fully reversible, with synthetic insulation, quilting and a TNF print on the reverse, a zip kangaroo pocket and a reversible VISLON zipper at the back of the neck. For a base layer there is the Symone DOTKNIT, a fitted wool blend top with an attached hood.
Two bags that do everything
The Waist Pack in Midnight Sky is the piece in the campaign, and it earns it. Water repellent nylon with layered floral embroidery and flower tassels, a large main compartment with a mesh pocket and key hook, and four ways to wear it: by the handle, crossbody, as a backpack or around the waist. The Small Crevasse Cinch goes softer, with a cinch top closure through flower eyelets and three carry options.
A mule and a real boot
The ThermoBall Traction Mule is the easy one, quilted and packable with a collapsible heel and Bahnsen flower appliqués. The Verto Alpine is the serious one: water repellent suede, a GORE-TEX waterproof lining, flower shaped metal hardware and a Vibram XS Trek outsole with 5 mm lugs, a climbing zone at the toe and a braking zone at the heel.
Where to get it
Shop it on the Cecilie Bahnsen collaboration page. One note from the brand: this collection cannot ship to South Korea. Sizes are moving fast, so if one piece matters to you, go there first.
Why it matters
This one is Surfacing. Four drops in, this pairing has stopped feeling like a novelty and started feeling like a line people plan around. For the jacket underneath all the flowers, read our guide to the 1996 Retro Nuptse, and for what that boot lining actually does, see GORE-TEX explained.
