Umbro has spent a century making football kit for the pitch. Its newest partner wants to take that kit somewhere stranger. Umbro and Perks and Mini, the independent brand and creative studio better known as PAM, have announced their first collaboration, PAM x UMBRO Capsule 1, for Autumn/Winter 2026. It launches on Thursday, November 5, and from the campaign images alone it already looks like one of the more interesting football crossovers of the season.
From Psy-Active to Psy-Athletic
PAM has long built its work around an idea it calls Psy-Active Mutation, which the label describes as the activation of body and mind. For this capsule it becomes Psy-Athletic Mutation. In practice that means three recurring moves: botanical graphics that seem to keep growing, football stripes that run off their usual tracks, and logos tessellated into a hypnotic repeat.
Umbro frames the pairing as its football DNA meeting PAM's conceptual, psychedelic lens. PAM's own announcement calls it a new expression of sportswear, rooted in football yet designed for life beyond the touchline, with modular layers and adaptable silhouettes meant to move between the pitch, the street and everything in between.
What is in Capsule 1
The football shirt is the anchor. PAM's "Autotrophic" panelled football shirts, sports mesh tops and "Amalgam" T-shirts are layered with abstracted foliage, the grey and violet flower print you can see in the campaign. Umbro's Double Diamond logo shows up across hooded zip through tops, crew neck sweatshirts, piqué polo shirts and caps, and select pieces get a distressed finish meant to look like the marks of repeated wear and hard matches.
Then it gets more technical. The "Cubiq" mesh pieces and technical caps carry the collaboration's logos as a subtle, slightly disorienting tessellation. The Cascade jacket, football shirts and shorts are crossed by a single free running stripe. The standout on paper is the "Orbital Etchings" parka, which, along with a pair of canvas shorts, is laser perforated with tiny Double Diamond motifs. Running through the whole line are PAM's "Handmaiden Eyes," applied in print, transfer and embroidery, watching, as the brands put it, from the stands.
Where and when
Capsule 1 launches Thursday, November 5. PAM says it will be available from perksandmini.com and PAM Stores in Melbourne and Sydney, along with select Umbro regions and PAM stockists worldwide. Umbro will also carry it through umbro.com and select retailers. Neither brand has posted pricing yet. For launch details as they land, follow PAM and Umbro on Instagram.
Why it matters
This one is Surfacing. Football shirts have become everyday wear, and most collaborations simply swap a crest or a colourway. This one rethinks the graphics, the fabrics and the logo itself, and it comes from an independent studio whose graphics already have a devoted following.
