Two brands with properly loyal cult followings have found each other. Heresy, the label with a taste for old woodcut style graphics, has teamed up with NTS on a winter capsule, and the full Heresy x NTS collection is now up on the NTS Shop. The station is offering an exclusive early preview to NTS Supporters, so check the page for how access works where you are.
Why the pairing works
NTS has always been about the long tail of music: the strange record, the late show, the selector nobody else would book. Heresy dresses that same crowd. Its graphics look like they came out of an old village almanac, all hand cut lines and odd creatures, but the clothes here are built for real winter wear in the city. Put the two together and you get a capsule that feels like merch for people who would never wear merch.
The launch was marked on October 29 with an evening at Goodhood, with a live performance from Tristwch Y Fenywod, a booking that tells you exactly what kind of crowd this capsule is for.
The Collector Puffer
The headline piece is the Collector Puffer. It is cut from micro ripstop with an embroidered logo on the chest and back, and the inside is lined with a printed woodcut graphic, so the best detail is the one you only see when you unzip it. A YKK double zip with a custom cord puller, elastic cuffs and a shock cord hem round it out. It is the kind of jacket that gets worn every day from November to March.
The rest of the capsule
There are ten pieces in total, and the range is smart about layering.
- Deft Shirt. The Deft Shirt comes in an orange and black check, pigment dyed, with an embroidered pocket logo and custom metal buttons.
- Scarf. The jacquard scarf is brushed cotton at 200 by 25 centimetres, long enough to wrap twice. It is the piece in the campaign image above.
- Don't Assume Sweatshirt. A washed green sweat in heavy 440g loopback, pigment dyed for that lived in look.
- Musician Longsleeve. Grey, pigment dyed, with screen prints on the front and down the arms.
- Tees. The Collector Tee in ecru on a 220g body, the digitally printed Dancing Tee, also in ecru, and the Veil Tee in washed black.
- SoftPeak Cap. Cotton canvas with an applique logo and a custom clasp.
- Socks. Mostly cotton, with a knitted Arch graphic.
The colour story stays earthy throughout: ecru, washed green, grey, washed black and that one hit of orange check. Nothing here shouts a logo across the chest, which is exactly why it will last longer than most seasonal collabs.
How to get it
Everything is sold through the NTS Shop. Collabs like this tend to run in small quantities, and some pieces already move fast, so if the puffer or the scarf is the one you want, do not wait for the weekend to end. Keep an eye on Heresy's own site for anything that lands there later.
Why it matters
This one is Surfacing. It is a radio station and an independent label making winter clothes with real character, and it is aimed squarely at people who care where their music comes from. If NTS is on in your house all day, our look at the Atonemo NTS Radio Player is worth a read, and the Octobre Éditions and Circle Sportswear running collection is another small collab built with the same care.
