UNIQLO F.RISSO Knitwear Capsule Brings Francesco Risso's 3D Knits Back for Winter

UNIQLO and Francesco Risso are back with a second UNIQLO F.RISSO collection, and this time it is all about knitwear. The 2026 Knitwear Capsule Collection follows the first drop from summer 2026 and lands in Japan on October 30, with men's and women's collection pages already up on UNIQLO US.

The theme is Made for Dreaming. In the official UNIQLO announcement, Risso says he was drawn to the contradiction inside 3D knitting: a cutting edge, seamless machine process that he pushed toward the natural irregularity and warmth of something made by hand.

Who is Francesco Risso

Risso was born in Italy and studied fashion in Florence, New York and London. He spent about ten years at Prada, then served as creative director of Marni from 2016 to 2025, where his work pulled from music, art and culture and became known for bold color and a playful, slightly off kilter approach to classic clothes. That color sense is the whole point of this capsule.

What is in the collection

The capsule is seven items. Five of them are 3D knit sweaters, inspired by vintage knitwear and designed to be worn by anyone regardless of gender. The signature detail is a two tone color pairing on each piece.

  • Turtleneck. Thin but warm, designed as an easy base layer under a coat.
  • Mock neck polo sweater. A collared knit with the same lightweight 3D construction.
  • V neck sweater. One of the two volume pieces, with a fuller shape.
  • Boat neck sweater. The other volume piece, with a wide neckline.
  • HEATTECH socks and a beanie. Accessories in the same color story. UNIQLO notes these two are not made with 3D knit.

Why the 3D knit matters

UNIQLO's 3D knit pieces are knitted in one piece on the machine rather than cut and sewn from panels, so there are almost no seams. UNIQLO notes that some labels and reinforcement points are still stitched. The result is a softer feel on the skin and a more sculpted, three dimensional silhouette than a standard sweater, which is why Risso could play with volume on the V neck and boat neck shapes without bulky seams.

How to get it

In Japan, the full lineup is sold at 105 stores and on the UNIQLO online store, according to the UNIQLO press release. In the US, check the women's and men's UNIQLO F.RISSO pages for sizes and stock. UNIQLO also has a sales FAQ for the collection with purchase details for Japan. Designer collaborations at UNIQLO tend to sell through the brightest colorways first, so pick your favorite pairing early.

This one is Surfacing. A former Marni creative director making seamless knitwear at UNIQLO scale is a rare chance to get a designer color sense in a sweater you will actually wear every day this winter.
