Citizen has two new limited edition ATTESA watches out now, and they are some of the boldest takes on its satellite synced flagship yet. The ATTESA Power of Green Flash CC4084-83Z and the ATTESA Power of Purple Aurora CC4085-81Z share the same black titanium build and GPS movement, and each is limited to 1,500 pieces worldwide.

Both are listed as New Limited Editions on Citizen's US site with ordering open now. Citizen notes the pieces are not individually numbered.

What ATTESA is

ATTESA is the high end line from Citizen Japan, built around light powered Eco-Drive movements, titanium cases and radio or satellite time sync. For years it was mostly a Japan market name, which is why limited ATTESA models tend to get attention from collectors outside Japan when they appear on the official US store.

Shared specs

  • Case. 44.6mm Super Titanium with a black DLC coating, which Citizen uses for scratch resistance and a light feel on the wrist.
  • Movement. Satellite Wave GPS caliber F950 Eco-Drive, charged by any light and set by GPS satellite signals.
  • Functions. World time, perpetual calendar and chronograph.
  • Crystal and water resistance. Sapphire crystal and WR100, so 10 bar.
  • Bracelet. Matching Super Titanium bracelet with a safety fold over clasp and push buttons.

Eco-Drive is the key to living with a watch like this. Any light source keeps it charged, so there is no battery swap schedule, and Citizen explains how the system works on its Eco-Drive technology page. Add GPS time sync and a perpetual calendar, and the watch handles time zones and month lengths on its own, which is exactly what you want from a travel watch you set once and forget.

Power of Green Flash CC4084-83Z

The Green Flash version is named after the brief green light that can appear at the edge of the sun at sunset. Citizen gives it a black dial with a green flash through the center and a world time bezel with a green insert. It is the sportier of the two and the one that reads best from across a room.

Power of Purple Aurora CC4085-81Z

The Purple Aurora version takes its cue from the northern lights. The black dial carries violet swirls, and the indices are rose gold tone, which gives it a dressier look than the Green Flash despite identical hardware underneath.

How to get one

Both watches are sold through the official Citizen store, with full specs on each product page. Browse the wider ATTESA collection Citizen's Super Titanium watches to compare them with the rest of the line. With 1,500 pieces each spread across the world, these are unlikely to stay in stock for long.

This one is Surfacing. A satellite GPS world timer in black titanium with a real color story is rare at this level, and these two give ATTESA a louder voice than it usually has outside Japan.
