The notes on the single's Bandcamp page set the scene: "A labyrinth is not a maze. There is nothing to solve and no wrong turn. The path only appears to lead you away from the center. That is the shape of this piece. The piano circles, returning to the same few notes from a slightly different angle each time, moving inward rather than forward."
Later, the notes add: "The walk is longer than it needs to be, and that is not a flaw in the design. It is the design. Then the last turn opens, and the light is there, and it was always there, waiting at the end of a walk that could not have been shortened."
