Samsung Galaxy Buds On are official for the US, and they are a different kind of Galaxy earbud. Instead of sealing your ears shut, these clip-on open-ear earbuds rest on the outside of the ear so you hear your music and the street at the same time. Samsung Electronics America confirmed today that they arrive in the US in early November 2026, in Black. If you run, commute on foot or just hate the plugged-up feeling of in-ear buds, this is the pair to watch.
Samsung pitches them as a partner to the in-ear Galaxy Buds4 Pro rather than a replacement: noise cancellation for deep focus, Buds On for the moments when you want your hands free and your ears open. The full details are in the official Samsung announcement.
A fit built from 119 million ear data points
The headline is the fit. Galaxy Buds On use a clip-on band that wraps the ear, and Samsung says it drew on more than 119 million ear data points, then used artificial intelligence (AI) assisted optimization and physics simulations to shape it for a wide range of ears. Computational modeling placed the speaker and battery to keep pressure low, and the band's stiffness was tuned so it stays put without pinching.
Each earbud weighs 6.65 grams. You get tap controls and a slim charging case, with up to 9.5 hours of music on a single charge and up to 38 hours in total with the case.
Sound that stays aware
- TwinBoost Speaker: an 11.3 millimeter driver paired with automatic volume adjustment that reacts to the noise around you, indoors or out.
- Audio Leakage Reduction: the rear of the speaker projects reversed sound waves to cancel sound before it escapes, so the people next to you hear less of your playlist.
- Snapdragon S7 Gen 1 Sound Platform: the Qualcomm chip, with a high efficiency Class-D amplifier, is built to hold louder volumes for longer without draining the battery.
- Intelligent Clear Call: three microphones plus a Voice Pickup Unit (VPU), a vibration sensor that knows when you are talking from bone and skin movement, with a machine learning filter trained on car horns and construction noise.
Hands free, with Gemini Live
Mid run, you can manage music, notifications and settings from the buds. Say "Hey Google, let's talk live" to start a conversation with Gemini Live. Long press an earbud for Quick Voice Memo, then find recordings later with Bixby. Head Gestures let you nod to accept a call and shake to decline, and they also dismiss alarms and handle read out notifications.
Setup skips the Galaxy Wearable app entirely. Open the cradle to connect to a Galaxy phone or tablet, then adjust volume or the equalizer (EQ) from the Buds shortcut in the Quick Panel.
