The Kilby Block Party 2027 lineup is out. Deftones, The Strokes and Jungle top the bill for the Salt Lake City festival, which returns to the Utah State Fairpark on May 14, 15 and 16, 2027. Tickets are on the official Kilby Block Party site now.

The official poster splits the top of the bill by day. Friday is led by Deftones and Fontaines D.C., Saturday by The Strokes and Slayyyter, and Sunday by Jungle and Lil Yachty. The rest of the lineup is not yet sorted by day, and the poster still carries a scatter of question mark slots, so more names are on the way.

Who else is playing

Below the headliners, the bill leans hard into the indie and guitar music the festival was built on. Highlights include:

  • Two Door Cinema Club, playing their album Tourist History
  • Whitney, playing a 10 year anniversary set for Light Upon the Lake
  • IDLES, Spoon, Hot Chip and Phantogram
  • Weyes Blood, Kim Gordon, Julien Baker and Kurt Vile and the Violators
  • Atlas Sound, The Radio Dept., Mercury Rev, Wolf Parade and Iceage
  • Silversun Pickups, Current Joys, Wednesday, Joyce Manor, Wunderhorse and Twin Peaks
  • Erika de Casier, Racing Mount Pleasant, Grace Ives, Porches, Ratboys and Sextile

The lower lines go deep, from Bandalos Chinos, Caroline Rose, Westside Cowboy, Annabelle Dinda, Tokyo Tea Room and Dillom to Frankie and the Witch Fingers, Lip Critic, Greg Freeman, Choir Boy, Quiet Light and Olympic Deth.

Where it came from

Kilby Block Party started in 2019 as a literal block party for Kilby Court, the all ages room the festival calls Salt Lake City's longest running venue. In 2027 Kilby Court turns 28 and the festival reaches its eighth year. The organizers now describe it as the largest indie music festival ever held in Salt Lake City, with about 30,000 people a day. A portion of the 2027 proceeds goes to three local nonprofits: Equality Utah, HEAL Utah and Spy Hop.

Our call

This one is Surfacing. The headliners will sell the tickets, but the real story is the middle of the poster: Atlas Sound, The Radio Dept., Mercury Rev and Kim Gordon on the same weekend is a rare run for any American festival, let alone one that started as a party for a small all ages room. Start with the official playlist above and pick your Friday, Saturday or Sunday from there.
